I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas yesterday and got all the things that you put on your Christmas lists to santa!
I enjoyed both giving and receiving and this year I took a little comfort in knowing that I’d helped to make a difference to those less fortunate too. Dora & I made up some Christmas shoe boxes for the homeless this year, one for a person and one for a dog. The response we saw for the shoe box appeal was overwhelming so we’ll definitely do it again next year.
I ate my own body weight in food yesterday though. The plate was brimming with turkey & trimmings and as I wrote this I can’t remember the last time I felt hungry! Sound familiar? Even so, if you’re anything like me you’ll still be spending the rest of this Boxing Day evening stuffing your face with left overs from yesterday and drinking whatever you like.
As the festivities slowly begin to simmer though, it gives us all opportunity to reflect on the last 12 months and look forward to the coming new year. 2016 has been much better than I’d anticipated this time last year. I’ve made some wonderful memories with my family and friends and we welcomed a new baby nephew to the family too!
This year I’ve lost a stone in weight and kept it off.
I did this through healthier eating and home workouts, mainly those HIIT workouts on You Tube by Joe Wicks. I also did bodypump classes at home using my new step & weights with an online subscription to Les Mills Online. I didn’t have a gym membership and this goes to show that being fit and healthy doesn’t have to cost money or take that much time out of your busy day.
How did you get on this year with your fitness goals? Do you have any new goals for 2017?
I’d love to hear what your fitness goals are for 2017. Or any goals in fact. I think I’d like to take my fitness to a different level next year. I’m realativly happy with my weight on the scales but I don’t feel as healthy as I’d like to (mainly because I relapse often and fall back into bad eating habits!) So next year I’ll try to have a more consistent diet.
I’d also like to take my exercise out of the house again. I want to swim more, I think it will be great for my knee. I’d also like to cycle, but without a bike that’s impossible at the moment. Perhaps I can work on that one!
I’m getting married in July 2017, so what better thing to focus on could I have?!
