FITNESS // How Is Your Wellbeing?

  1. When was the last time you actually thought about your own wellbeing? Do you power through the day focusing on all the things you need to do to before flaking out in bed and doing it all over again the next day? If so you need to read this.

You’re own wellbeing should be at the top of your priority list. So you have a partner, kids, a full-time job and a house to run… I hear you, but you’re no good to any of them if you’re not on top form.

At the centre of your universe is you. Everything you do and everything you dream of, starts with you.

Take a minute now to think. How is your wellbeing?

Are you happy? Content? Stressed? Tired? Fed up? Anxious?

Are you satisfied with your health? Weight? Diet? Achievements?

Are you working to your best ability at work? Or could you be doing better?

Are you on track with the things you want to achieve in life?

Now. Get a pen & paper. Go on..

Write down 10 things you are happy about or satisfied with in your life. No matter how tiny they may seem. Perhaps it’s the hot water in your home, the success you’ve had in a recent challenge or the weight you’ve recently lost.

Now write down 10 things you want to change. No matter how small. Maybe you’ve been lazy recently, you’ve been feeling down or you’ve been too busy to see your friends.

Set yourself a timeframe. I’d suggest 1 month. A month is long enough to see changes but short enough to stay focused.

Think about those 10 things that you want to change, and write down the reasons you haven’t already achieved. Time? Money? Energy?

Now, evaluate your list and think about how you can overcome those obstacles. Get up a little early to make more time in the day? Be frugal with your money so it stretches further? Get enough rest and eat well to feel energised?

Lastly, every night for the next month read the list of things you are happy with every night before you go to sleep. On a bad day this will remind you of some of the things you have to be grateful for your life, this helps with stress and avoiding depression.

Every morning for the next month start your day by reading the list things you want to change. By doing this you will have a sense of motivation to kick-start each day thus making your more productive.

If you try this I’d love to hear how you get on. Make those life changes that you’ve been wanting to do for a while. Quit the excuses and remember, at the beginning of every dream is you.
